Alocrom, also known as Alodine, is the trade name widely given to aluminium chromate conversion coatings. This process improves the corrosion resistance of aluminium and is used in light service conditions, giving a pale yellow iridescent finish. It is also applied as a base coat to improve the adhesion of paint and other organic coatings.

Iridite NCP a non-chromate conversion coating is also available which may be specified where compliance with the RoHS and WEEE directives is required. It also offers excellent corrosion resistance and improved paint adherence with a clear surface finish
